To add the XS Tilt | Shock Sensor to your Z-Wave network:
1. Use the included triangle tool to carefully open the sensor’s cover and access the battery. Pull the tab from under the battery to activate the sensor. Don’t close the cover just yet. The LED indicator will start blinking for around 10 seconds once the
sensor is powered.
2. Bring the sensor to the location where you plan to mount it at.
3. Put your Z-Wave hub into inclusion/pairing mode.
4. Scan the QR code or enter the PIN code located inside of the battery cover if your hub supports SmartStart S2 inclusion.
5. Click the Z-Wave button on the sensor 3 TIMES QUICKLY. The LED indicator will flash quickly.
6. A new open/close and vibration sensor will appear on your controller’s device list.
After successfully including the sensor into your Z-Wave network, use the supplied adhesive tape to mount it.
If installing the sensor outdoors, please make sure to insert the sensor to the waterproof case (sold separately) and mount the case using the supplied mounting screws.
Products work well and support is very responsive.
Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range XS Tilt | Shock Sensor ZSE43 800LR
Ordered this to give my Hubitat system a way to read my garage door open / closed status as part of the workaround I am doing for a MyQ garage opener. Very simple install and this thing is small so you barely notice that it is there. The only issue I have noticed is that there are times the sensor does not change status meaning sometimes the door opens and it does not read that it has and sometimes after closing it still reads open. This does not happen often and usually just cycling thr garage door will correct it. Perhaps this may be resolved in future firmware updates. For now it is a simple solution as part of a way for me to solve a more complicated problem.
Attached sensor to garage door with the included 2-sided tape. No trouble adding it to Home Assistant network. Configured it to turn a lamp on when the garage door is opened, and turn lamp off when closed. Works reliably after a bit of tuning to incorporate sensor is in opened/closed status for 2-3 seconds. Sustains a decent signal (~40 kbit/s, 2-hops) with an extender. Haven't had it long enough to evaluate battery life (CR2032), but I hope it lasts a year or so assuming usage 2-3x/day.
This product works great and very fast. Once I paired it with my home assistant it is very fast. When I was testing it, it registered on home assistant as fast as I could flip the device. Would buy again
