Check your wiring first to confirm that you have all the following wires present in your electrical box: power, neutral, and the connection to the detector.
If you are not comfortable identifying the wiring and following the instructions, please hire a licensed electrician.
Here is an example diagram showing how to wire the ZEN55 to a smoke detector:
I'm so glad to have a product such as this so that I can be alerted anywhere when my home smoke/CO alarm is triggered. Installation was not hard but I would have appreciated it if the relay wiring came pre-capped because I didn't have a use for it and had to go get some smaller caps to do that. And I'm sure the module can't be made any smaller but if you have an overcrowded box already it might present an issue. I definitely had to do some wiring gymnastics to fit it all haha. Still, it works really well upon testing and I feel it will be a valuable addition for years to come.
Have various cameras that can detect firearms, but prefer to have a hardwired fire alarm sensor directly connected. Couldn’t find a good zwave enabled fire alarm but this sensor works with existing fire alarms. Was easy to install and gives peace of mind that the sensor is dedicated to detecting the alarm and would not have any false positives
Hard-wired and interconnected smoke and carbon monoxide detectors can be smart in a 15 min installation. I use smartthings to link the Z-wave detector bridge and can set automation to change light to red and make announcement through my samsung soundbars when smoke is tetected
I've had this installed for about a year now and it's worked flawlessly when testing the device. Install was simple enough and it paired quickly with Home Assistant.
This product was easy to install (with basic electrical skills). It worked immediately, and notifies us if either of 3 networked hardwired smoke detectors are alarmed. We liked it so much that we just got a second one for an elderly family member that lives next door (close to our Z-wave hub). We will feel safer knowing that we will be alerted if there was smoke or CO in their place.
