Please follow the manual carefully and refer to the supplied diagrams when installing your Zooz switches. It's recommended that a licensed electrician performs the installation.
Check for neutral connections BEFORE you buy. A white wire from a 14-3 romex is usually NOT a neutral. Ask us if you're not sure what to look for, we'll be happy to help!
How to include the 800 Series S2 Dimmer to your smart home hub?
1. Make sure the dimmer is located within range of your Z-Wave network
2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Tap the upper paddle of the dimmer 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process
4. A new dimmer switch will appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Follow an appropriate diagram from the manual to wire the dimmer in a 3-way or 4-way setting with a regular on/off electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 or 3 switches. If you can't match your wiring with any of the diagrams, let us know and we'll walk you through the wiring process.
I have about 75 individual switches in my house, most of which are in a 3 way configuration. The sheer cost of replacing all of them was daunting. I have replaced every switch across 2 out of 4 floors in my house with the zen77 switches and couldn't be happier. The fact that you only need to replace a single switch in a series is amazing.
A note about 3 way switches. In most 3 way configurations, you have a primary switch and a secondary switch. This switch can only replace the primary switch in the series and function properly. I wired it every which way and could never get it working as the secondary switch in the series. The primary switch will have your line wires in a bundle coming into the box and usually pigtailed off of it to the primary switch. The secondary switch will just have 3 wire traveler with no mains power coming directly to it. This was a headache to figure out/remember when i was wiring things up.
It's zwave. Running in Home Assistant via the zwaveJSUI addon with the zooz 800 usb dongle. So far no issues and i have about 25 devices on my network. Zwave long range is 🔥 and so cool. I have been able to utilize it on a few devices but i have a majority of my switches setup on traditional zwave mesh. Communication is near instant. Internet has gone out a few times and I love that i can still access these via HA in my local network.
Smart Start pairing is super easy once you get used to it. Scan the QR cades as you install switches and name them/put them in rooms/choose zwave mesh or long range while power is out via the ZwaveJSUI. Turn power back on and just mark them all as "Active" and they will passively get added to zwaveJS as they are seen on the network. Probably the most seamless pairing experience of any zwave device i have ever owned.

Mostly got ZEN72s but got a few of these to simplify 3way setups where the other side could stay a dumb switch. Zooz products are solid... easy to install and little touches like including a white neutral jumper just shows they care!
