Here are some helpful installation tips:
How to include the 800 Series Dimmer switch to your smart home network?
1. Bring your Z-Wave gateway hub or controller as close to the switch as possible
2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion mode
3. Tap the UPPER paddle of the switch 3 times very quickly to finalize the inclusion process
4. A new dimmer (or multilevel switch) device will appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Use a dedicated diagram from the manual to wire the switch in a 3-way setting with a regular electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 switches. This switch may wire differently in 3-way or 4-way installation than your other Zooz switch.
As with all of my other Zooz switches and dimmers, it works exactly as needed. This 3-way circuit wiring was a little different than any other I’d installed, and wasn’t covered in the printed instructions in the box. Thankfully, the correct wiring diagram was online.
Perhaps due to the unique wiring, the behavior when flipping the remote switch is a bit sluggish compared to other Zooz switches and dimmers I have wired in more common 3-way circuits.
This 800LR is a little more solid feeling, and a nice evolution from the 700 series. Thanks and fist bump guys!
I had been using Jasco dimmers and when I upgraded to Homey Pro hub the dimmers, though listed as "Homey Friendly" just had some issues. I replaced them with Zooz dimmers and it has been great. Everything works as it should.
I installed in my bedroom to use as a regular dimmer switch for the main lights. But I also customized it to turn on/off the master bathroom/closet lights with triple press or the main living area lights with 4 press. It's nice to be able to quickly turn on/off all the lights in your house from one place.
It might be the way I have it set up but the lights flicker briefly when turning on. Not too noticeable and worth the other features.
I thorough research products before making a purchase...particularly when buying 30+ switches. My experience with zooZ products is consistently positive, and the Zen72 is no different. Best value you can find for a z-wave switch!
