Zooz Light Switches & Dimmers Frequently Asked Questions
NOTE: If you don't see your Z-Wave controller on the list above, please contact us before you purchase this product.
Please follow the manual carefully and refer to the supplied diagrams when installing your Zooz switches. It's recommended that a licensed electrician performs the installation.
Check for neutral connections BEFORE you buy. A white wire from a 14-3 romex is usually NOT a neutral. Ask us if you're not sure what to look for, we'll be happy to help!
How to include the 800 Series S2 Toggle Dimmer to your smart home hub?
1. Make sure the dimmer is located within range of your Z-Wave network
2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Toggle the dimmer up 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process
4. A new dimmer switch will appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Follow an appropriate diagram from the manual to wire the dimmer in a 3-way or 4-way setting with a regular on/off electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 or 3 switches. If you can't match your wiring with any of the diagrams, let us know and we'll walk you through the wiring process.
I purchased this as my start into smart lighting. The switches worked great and I was able to easily wire up a 4 way virtual switch setup. I was able to pair the switches together and configure access in home assistant to support automations.
I only wish these were available in light almond and not only white.
I have installed a bunch of these over the last year using 3 different electricians. I would say 30% failed out of the box. Costly and a PIA when the electrician is there and you don't have a backup. Not sure if it is quality control or they are extremely sensitive. I love ZooZ, but come on. I have had no problems once installed - work great with Home Assistant. Feature rich and reliable.
I love that this is a reliable and affordable smart + dimmer switch with a classic look suitable for our century home. The only thing I don't like is the requirement to use the unusually short faceplate screws included with the switch, which it took me a couple stripped sockets to realize were required for the appliance, and which would likely be difficult to replace.
It's the big things and the little things. These switches install easily, come on-line easily, and just work. The community-supported advanced driver grants extreme flexibility. In some ways, though, it's the little things like the neutral jumper included in the box and the outrageously clear color diagrams that give one confidence to install quickly and without fear. I own dozens of Zooz switches and am very pleased. May God bless your smart home.
I have a 3-way and 4-way circuit lighting circuits that I wanted to make smart and these ZEN74 made it possible with only 1 smart switch. The install was easy, though I do wish these shipped with solid neutral wire instead of stranded. It's not enough to dock a star but consideration needs to be taken to properly wire nut stranded and solid wire together. Once paired with my ZST39 these switches work flawlessly regardless of how each or my 3-way and 4-way circuits are powered on. It does take maybe 1/4 to 1/2 second for the smart switch to detect a change and flip on the lights, only when operated from my non-smart switches, but again not enough of an issue to dock a star. Controlling these from my hub is lighting fast and I have not had any issues of commands dropped or switches going offline. I highly recommend these and plan on installing more when I finish my basement.
